Genesis 41:33-36 NKJV
““Now therefore, let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. Then that food shall be as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which shall be in the land of Egypt, that the land may not perish during the famine.””
Between ages 0-20, you are in school, preparing for life.
Ages 21-60 (40 years) are your “seven years of plenty.” This is when you’re working and making money.
In this window, a WISE and DISCERNING person saves minimum 20% of all your income, which you invest in GROWING ASSETS.
Your assets should grow at least 12-20% per annum on average.
Ages 61-100 are your “seven years of famine.” It says shall come upon “Egypt”, meaning the world in which we live. This is when you can no longer easily go out and get a job or work or deals etc.
Your cashflow producing assets in which you invested for the 40 years (seven years of plenty - just assume 40=7), will sustain you and yours in that season of life.
Your neglect of this wisdom and failure to invest 20% of your income while still working may lead to a very stressful and miserable life after 60. This might even trigger a desire for an unnecessary early departure to heaven at that time.
So, SAVE & INVEST minimum 20% of your income RIGHT NOW going forward without fail. The same way you’re consistent with tithing 10% (I hope you are), you should be with investing 20%.
You are a WISE & DISCERNING person!!!!
