In mid-2020, Pastor Beatrice Byemanzi and I were to do a series called Life Accelerators on MC Live, our live online conversation-style teaching, which leads into the Missional Community group meetings for discussion. Honor was supposed to be just one of twelve life accelerators. But when we got to the next Wednesday, we seemed to be stuck with honor. This went on for about three months. It was at the same time that we were having a major culture shift in Worship Harvest. As we taught people about honor in those weeks and as they went out to practice what we were teaching, they started experiencing remarkable miracles and breakthroughs, and we started to get amazing testimonies on our different platforms. Subsequently, many listeners started asking when I’d put the material into a book, so that they can have a constant reference, as well as a resource from which they could teach others. This book is the result of that. As you practice the principles here, may you have similar amazing breakthroughs and miracles as the people who have walked this journey.

I believe what Africa needs today is not necessarily more churches or more people who call themselves Christians, but more followers of Jesus who understand their kingdom mandate to bring solutions to the marketplace where God has placed them. And that’s one of the reasons I love being around Moses Mukisa. He is truly my brother from another mother! Apart from leading an amazing church movement, he is an entrepreneurial leader and author whose books are tools to change the mind-set of his people. His passion to raise a generation who live out kingdom principles and make a difference to their nation is truly inspiring. This book is a simple, inviting, and yet at the same time hard-hitting and challenging, treatise with Biblical principles about wealth creation and management taught in a practical and easy-to-understand way. A great example is in the “Prison Break” chapter where he helps us understand pretty graphically that the only money we can truly claim to own is what we save and invest. That chapter alone is worth the price of the book! I enjoyed reading the many stories and anecdotes in the book, including many about Moses’ own life demonstrating both the mistakes and lessons that he has learnt along the journey.

Once again, Moses Mukisa challenges Christians around the globe to go beyond the idea of heaven and hell and instead know their mission here on earth. He brilliantly explains the best perspective on Church. Many are utterly confused at the gates of their church on Sunday. He clarifies the truth that Church begins on Monday. That very thing that you do every day of the week is your Church, is where you are called to build the Kingdom of God, to bring joy and hope to your neighborhood. He exhorts Christians to bring a little bit of heaven to their neighborhoods each day.

Reading through Called to Greatness, I was reminded of the Psalty Songbook and the song titled, “If you want to be great, you get to be a servant of all”. This is a good book by a fine writer, but even more relevant is that Moses speaks from experience and from revelation, and these two combined have the capacity to empower the readers in a way that many leadership books can never do. His leadership call goes far beyond his own nation; this book would do well to be read by leaders internationally, carrying as it does the very essence of what leadership is, not just how it operates. “Only in the darkness can we see the stars.” In this inspiring book, Moses Mukisa has done it again, calling us to shine during dark times. Most people run away from crisis, give up when things are difficult or fail to see hardship as a God given opportunity to shine for God’s glory and the growth of His Kingdom. This book offers a blue print for us to embody greatness regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in. Darkness does not overcome greatness, but creates a backdrop for it to shine.

This remarkable book by Pastor Moses Mukisa, one of “Uganda’s new generation leaders” is inspirational, captivating and very insightful. It considers key questions about the choices we make in our day to day lives, weaving together powerful spiritual messages and sound business philosophy. I was struck by the simplicity and methods used by Pastor Moses to so effectively connect the spiritual being to the real world showing us how easy it is to form new, positive habits needed for wealth creation and management. This simple book is ammunition and a catalyst for the ongoing silent revolution that’s spreading all over Africa.
